James Mae Rentals began as a simple family tradition: renting inflatables every year for our son’s birthday parties. When our daughter came along, those celebrations doubled, and we found ourselves renting bounce houses twice a year. Right before her second birthday, the rental company we relied on stopped delivering to our area, so we jumped at the chance to buy a gently used bounce house we spotted on Marketplace.
What started as a practical solution quickly turned into something more. Friends and family began asking if they could rent our bounce house for their own events. In that very first year, the rentals brought in enough to purchase a brand-new commercial-grade bounce house. We saw an opportunity—not just to cover costs, but to create a fun, family-oriented side business that our kids could even help with.
In 2012, with excitement (and a little investment), we added six new bounce houses, and James Mae Rentals was officially born. The company name comes from our kids middle names—James and Mae. We started the business to save for their future and jokingly called it “their” company. The name stuck and now it proudly represents our family owned and operated business.
Today, we’ve grown far beyond that single bounce house. Our inventory now includes over 40 inflatables, along with tents, tables, chairs, and more—everything needed to make parties and events unforgettable. From backyard birthdays to community celebrations, we love being part of the moments that create lasting memories for families across the area.
